Frequently Asked Questions

What if I don't have a boat license?

No license required to sail! We’ll provide you with a temporary license on site and take the time to explain how the boat works. It’s as simple as driving a car… but on the water! 😃

If you want a license valid for life, here is the link to take your exam online: Online Boat License Approved TC – Exam & Course CARTEBATEAU.com®

I would like to bring some food, can I?

Of course! Beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and food are permitted. We ask that you return the pontoon in the same condition that you took it. We have brooms and mops at your disposal. Be careful not to leave your waste in the water; we have placed a trash can in the pontoon to ensure the protection of our water.

Am I allowed to drink alcohol on a boat?

Yes! In Quebec, it is permitted to drink alcohol on a boat. BE CAREFUL, however, for the boat driver, as the usual driver’s license regulations apply. Therefore: 0.08 for the driver, with consequences as severe as losing your driver’s license.

We recommend drinking in moderation for your safety and that of others!

I would like to have a BBQ on the boat

Unfortunately this is not allowed.

HOWEVER: You can have one at the marina on the waterfront; we have BBQs designed for that. Bring all your supplies and you can rent the BBQ.

What is the minimum legal age to drive a boat?

We require that the driver be a minimum of 18 years old to operate a boat.

Can I take my dog on the boat?

Small or large, dogs are not allowed on boats and pontoons because of the leather benches. Claws that tear leather benches are expensive to repair. However, we do have rowboats for rent without leather benches, and you can bring your dogs on the rowboats.
